95 percent of adolescent pregnancies occur in girls and adolescents outside the educational system.

El Salvador, through several education programs, is working to increase school coverage especially for those girls in the most vulnerable situations, particularly those who are already mothers or are going through teenage pregnancy and are facing barriers to education. You can become a partner to help education programs reach the most vulnerable through a 100% tax deductible donation.

You can help empower girls in rural areas all over El Salvador. For just $180 a month, 1 girl or adolescent will have the chance to stay in school and take back control of her future.

Any amount will contribute to this goal and help close the gap.

UNFPA El Salvador is striving to reach the three ZEROS:

  • Zero preventable maternal deaths.
  • Zero gender-based violence and harmful practices
  • Zero unmet need for contraception.

All these zeros can be reached by addressing the root causes that increase girls´ and adolescents´ vulnerability, through strengthening their empowerment about their rights and reducing the gap in their access to education.
